Our friend Frank Anzalone (Of the Band “Sage”) send us this: A friend of our ours, Andy Weiner passed away three years ago on August 16th. Andy would have been 60 this year. Andy worked a lot with Ricky Minor, and also did music arrangements for Whitney Houston and others. He also worked for TV shows like American Idol, the Grammys and the Emmys. Andy also did a few horn arrangements (and played trumpet) on the Sage CDs (the songs “Funksway, Take me back, Ants, Knock you out” and more…). So, in honor of Andy we currently have in our rotation a composition he did for Maynard Furguson called “Cruisin’ For A Blusin’” from Maynard’s Footpath Café CD.
