The Monophonics Have A Kickstarter Project For New Tour Bus

March 1, 2013 by adminhdr

monophonics_600__90647Here is the Info and please help:

First of all, we’d like to say that we consider ourselves one of the luckiest bands we know to be able to do what we do. Last year we crossed the US several times, went to Canada three times and did a month in Europe to packed houses. 2013 promises to be even more fun and busy for us with two tours already booked for Europe, and several multi-week tours across the US and Canada.

Our current record “In Your Brain” has been extremely well received both here and abroad and we are very thankful and happy with how things are going on the creative side and as far a bookings are concerned, so we’d like to send out a big THANK YOU!! to all you folks who have come to the shows or have bought our records and merchandise.

As with adding stress to any system, the upswing in our activity (we were on the road 240 days last year and will have at least that many travel days this year) has made us painfully aware of the weakest link in the Monophonics road show – it’s our bus.

It’s a fact of life that, while being a musician is incredibly rewarding in many many ways, financially is not often one of them. Even though we are incredibly busy, ironically, at year’s end, we haven’t got much to show for it.

The largest single reason we’ve identified for our current financial situation is the fact that with repairs and gasoline, we spent well over $100,000 on our bus in 2012.

Should this campaign turn out well and we are able to get a Turbo-Diesel Mercedes Sprinter for 2013, we will save $60,000 in fuel alone, and that will go a LONG way toward getting us to our (and every musician’s) goal of actually making a living doing what we love so much, plus, it will have A WORKING HEATER AND AIR CONDITIONING!! We just drove overnight from Colorado to Wyoming and it was 17 degrees inside the bus!

Please give what you can. The rewards you see on the right are very cool, and we look forward very much to getting them to you, but there’s another reward that everyone who contributes will get: Our undying gratitude. We will know who you are and we invite you to please come introduce yourselves at shows so we can thank you personally.

With love and gratitude,

~ Monophonics

Doc Kupka’s (Tower Of Power)Tour Hat The ULTIMATE Tower Of Power Collectible Item Can Be Yours!

February 25, 2013 by adminhdr

One Of A Kind Auction at EBAY!!!

hat_ebay002

Background:

Doc’s wife Yvonne received a liver transplant on Dec. 28, 2010. Yvonne was finally able to go home from the hospital on March 28, 2011, three months to the day after her transplant surgery! The in-home care and recuperative process continues to this day.

The Kupka Family is extremely grateful for the contributions that have enabled them to pay a portion of the medical expenses but additional funds are needed for continued medical care, rehabilitation and medications.

In this first ever offering of an iconic Tower Of Power collectible of this significance you have a unique opportunity to own a piece of Tower Of Power history.

Doc Started wearing his trademark Fedora in the early 1980’s.  Doc buys his hats at The Berkeley Hat Co. located at 2510 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley, Ca. 94704  (510-549-2955)  and usually gets about 1 year out of the hat before it is retired.  The HAT travels in it’s road case and one time on tour in Europe it was misplaced for a couple of days and created quite a commotion.

Included in this auction are two tickets to a TOP show during the next year at a venue in your area and a chance to meet Doc and the rest of the band and take some photos with them. A certificate of authenticity on Tower Of Power stationery will be included with the hat, as well as free shipping in the Continental US.  Shipping to other countries is available at an additional cost.

January 28, 2013 by adminhdr

10.You can go home for lunch.

 9. A special, former member section, that seats 600 lying dudes.

 8. House shoes and pajama bottoms during sound check.

 7. Girls who wouldn’t date you in High School look like Betty White.

 6. Wives can see for themselves that many of the fans are no threat to steal their man.

 5. On the other hand, single members can catch major Babe rides home.

 4. You can put Madden on pause, do the gig, then come back and finish the game.

 3. You can get what you want, since you know where to find it.

 2. Everybody claims to know you.

 1. Your memory is so bad after all these years, you believe them.
